You can nearly always spoof the MAC of your NIC. The MAC is not really a
reliable information for permissions.
And if someone is able to change hardware at all, being able to change a
config file as root does not matter any more. Or do I misview anything
you have in mind?

Just as a short question: I see with your mail and some others something
which might be a signature. All I see is two square brackets together []
directly followed by an apostrophe and an s. What does it mean?
