gdm-binary generates 50% cpu-usage

hi there

since one or two days, my gdm-binary generates a very high cpu-usage. 
i've nothing found that could cause that problem. i remember only 
updating some things released as stable fedora update, no other 
installations...

i'm using fedora core 1, kde 3.2 and xfree 4.3.0-55.

does anyone have an idea what could be the reason or where i could look 
for it?
