Prob. 2.6.2 won't boot

Hi,
i compiled kernel 2.6.2 (from
http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/2.5/RPMS.kernel/) with my working 2.6.1
configuration. Compilation went fine and make install didn't complain
either.
But now i can't boot my new kernel :( During boot my maschine hangs at
"Remounting root filesystem in read-write mode:". Seems not to crash,
because i can turn on&off caps lock. 2.6.1 is still booting fine.
There was an error message, that my ramdisk was too small. With a bigger
ramdisk the message goes away, but not my real problem...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Felix
