That was the first thing I tried before posting, Did not work.
[root at matrix fedora2-test1]# cdrecord --dev=/dev/hdc -v
FC2-test1-i386-disc1.iso
Cdrecord-Clone 2.01a19 (i686-redhat-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2003
Jrg Schilling
TOC Type: 1 = CD-ROM
scsidev: '/dev/hdc'
devname: '/dev/hdc'
scsibus: -2 target: -2 lun: -2
Warning: Open by 'devname' is unintentional and not supported.
cdrecord: No such device or address. Cannot open '/dev/hdc'. Cannot open
SCSI driver.
cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you
are root.
cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'
