Install failures with PinkTie and Fedora

I have Windows XP on an 80Gb drive, and have installed RedHat 9.0(Red Hat Bible edition), on an auxiliary 60Gb drive successfully. I have tried to install PinkTie 10.0,
and Fedora 1.0, but they both appear to install, and then the screen blacks out when it should start. An install of Mandrake 8.2 works successfully on the drive, also. Can anybody tell me what the fluke is here? Is something wrong with my system?
