up2date connects to xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com? necessary?

It is a plain install.
That strange behaviour made me curious, but
this is our firewall so I cannot do an up2date everyday.
I will look into it with tcpdump/ethereal next time as
up2date worked ok the 3rd time I started it yesterday. oO
