Newbie: Fedora linux RedHat completely hanging or freezing the machine often

hello,

i was having the same problem on a dual 800mhz with 1024 ram but fixed
after I got the last updates and changed something in bios like "cache
memory"
if i remember well
but 1st update kernel and that should do it (if not check in bios something
about cache memory)
