Audio CDs do not mount.

Usually the cd burner is actually /dev/scd0 ..   /dev/cdrom is a link to 
that.
If you installed the burner after having a regular cdrom in the machine 
/dev/cdrom may be a link to /dev/hdX and thus won't work to mount/play 
audio.
