Yup, Just Googled it and "shell functions" also look very usefull.. Sort
of a basic form of stored procedure.. :)
I have to say the Linux shell (specifically bash which I am getting to
know fairly well in terms of commands and scrtipting) is very good.. My
perl skills are rubbish but so far I have been able to do quite a lot
with stratight forward bash scripts..
