Kernel 2.6.0-1-109 -> not auto loading sk98lin for 3c940 LOM

Hello all,

I have been experimenting with the 2.6 kernels from
http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/2.6/ and have found that for some reason
during boot the kernel is not auto loading the sk98lin module for my
3c940 LOM. I have a ASUS P4P800 motherboard and everything seems to work
when booting the 2.4.22-1.2135 kernel (with the exception of sound which
is a whole different issue...). 

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions I might try other than my
temporary work around by adding "modprobe sk98lin" to rc.local? I assume
that it still reads modules.conf so having "alias eth0 sk98lin" should
have done the trick as it has on the 2.4.22-1.2135 kernel.
