Since this is my first post this year:

Happy New Year all!!!

Well since, well I can't remember if it was after my last kernel upgrade, now
on 2.4.22-1.2135.nptl with a Athlon XP 2000.

Running Fedora 1, all latest updates etc with apt-get. My apt-get sources.list
out of interest is:

Here's my lsmod. It looks to me that everything is loaded fine, but still no
sound. Sound through my radio device on the WinTV card (bttv - BT878) is
fine, but why doesn't the normal sound work? It does sometimes.

alias sound-slot-1 audio

###alias usb-controller uhci-hcd
alias video0 pwcx-gcc32

install sound-slot-0 /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install sound-slot-0 && {
/bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L >/dev/null 2>&1 || :; }
install sound-slot-1 /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install sound-slot-1 && {

remove sound-slot-1 { /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -S >/dev/null 2>&1
|| :; }; /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove sound-slot-1

The 2 installs and removes are one line.

/etc/modules.conf:

alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias usb-controller usb-uhci
alias video0 pwcx-gcc32
alias eth0 e100
alias char-major-81 bttv
alias sound-slot-0 emu10k1
post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L >/dev/null
2>&1 || :
pre-remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -S >/dev/null 2>&1
|| :

Could it be the /etc/modprobe.conf line that removes the sound-slot-1 device??
