Well, I won't pretend to speak for Bevan, but "Everything I Know about
LDAP I Learned from Linux Journal."  In particular, I first got started
with it using information in the article "OpenLDAP Everywhere" which you
can read on line at 

http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=6266.

Recently, I've also gotten much useful information from the last several
articles by Mick Bauer.  These last are available free on line at

http://www.linuxjournal.com/

Do a search on Bauer from the home page and his articles come up,
including the recent LDAP ones.

After reading all those articles, if you still think I'd have something
to contribute, I'd be happy to try.
