How to turn off the beep

Check in /etc/inputrc there is a line such as this at the beginning:

# do not bell on tab-completion
#set bell-style none

uncomment the second line from above. "set bell-style none" You'll have to login again and everything should stop beepin' at you. *nods sagely*
