hello,

i had the same and never really got it working at 100%. maybe this was,
because i was changing from smtp-auth to pop-before-smtp
authentification-method.

unfortunately, this is not built-in, you need a additional package, but it
is installed within 5-10 minutes....AND IT WORKS!

you can get pop-before-smtp on http://www.sourceforge.net (works also with
imap.

It's just another method to authenticate....
