One reason, why /usr/share/doc is so big (du -sh /usr/share/doc gives me
actually 242 MB) is that it contains so much useful information about
system setup:

$ grep -n DOMAIN /usr/share/doc/initscripts-7.42.2/sysconfig.txt
170:  NISDOMAIN=<nis domain name>
...
