pdftotext problems on FC1

I have a pdf document on a CD that I am trying to convert to plain text.  I have
a RH9 machine and a FC1 machine.  I am using the pdftotext command to try to
do this.  On the RH box it works great.  I get a nice stream of text.  However,
on the FC1 box I get an error message that says that copying text from the
document is not allowed.  WTF has happened to this program?  Am I doing
something wrong?  Someone please help!!
