to the kernel line and hit 'e' for edit again.  Go to the end of the
line and add '3' without the quotes.  Then hit enter to accept, and 'b'

Thanks for the syntax!

Marius, thanks for your suggestion too, but I need to do this in grub before
it boots, The problem I am having is related to the 'first time boot script'
and an old monitor that was not in the Fedora database.
