`Thanks for the reply.....Sorry I did a locate and lsmod is there ..Must 
set the path for it...
The output from  /var/log/message is.....
Jan 25 13:06:31 localhost modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module 
sound-service- 0-1
Jan 25 13:07:02 localhost last message repeated 2 times
Jan 25 13:07:17 localhost last message repeated 5 times
The card is a pci and has worked ok on r/h9 ,Mandrake and Debian....
