benchmarking FC1

I have just installed Fedora Core 1 on a RaiserFS disk (pre formatted
before install). 
Now Fedora boots 4-5 seconds FASTER then with ext3. (simple stop watch)
Can that be true or is it just the system that fells faster?

Linux. 
Because making UNIX user friendly is easier then debugging Windows
