You obviously burned the iso file on the disk as a file and you did not
burn the iso file as an image! So you can kick that CD away as useless.

How to burn an image ISO file on a CD so that you get the content on it
depends on the burning software. On Linux it will easily be:

cdrecord yarrow-i386-disc1.iso

The first CD of FC1 consists of many files like listed here:

http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/1/i386/os/

Previously booted from CD1 does not fit to your above statement that
there is only the iso file on the CD.
