no sound and sleep in 2.6.1

hi!
i've just installed the 2.6.1 kernel from arjanv's rpm. have problems 
running
sound. the sound device is not being recognised. should a different kernel
param be passed? also, the pc speaker's dead. everythings fine on 2.4-nptl.

also there's no /proc/acpi/sleep how do i switch to a sleep mode?

config: nforce on board audio, running fc1
