xine-lib build problem

Hi,

I am trying to gain some experience in building from source bzips etc.. I have 
had good success with building alsa, and some small kde apps, but building 
xine-libs is giving me a problem..

configure seems to go fine, but make falls over with this error :-

grep: /opt/kde3/lib/libartsc.la: No such file or directory
/bin/sed: can't read /opt/kde3/lib/libartsc.la: No such file or directory
libtool-nofpic: link: `/opt/kde3/lib/libartsc.la' is not a valid libtool 
archive

Obviously in Redhat/Fedora there is nothing in /opt, but for the life of me I 
can figure this one out, any ideas?
