ISO's and CD burning with Nero Express

Thanks for the help.... I have since tried a suggested alternate burn
software, fireburner. and received the same block measure error. Is that
error and acceptable condition? I am guessing not. Additionally I didn't
mention that I am burning these CD on an XP machine. (a temporary fact I am
hoping to correct with fedora).

I just burned the iso for the first time and used Nero Express, did not do a
media check and installed Fedora in VMware 4.0 without a hitch. Of note, was
that I accepted the default burn rate of 4x.

(not express) burning bad images even though the downloads were fine. Turned
out that it burned bad images until I had it try burning at 4x, rather than
anything higher like 24x or 48x (I have a 52x burner). At anyrate, give that
a shot. Start low and work your way lower until you're at the lowest burning
speed your burner can do.
