How do I know if ddclient is really working properly

Yes the above is correct, as that is what I get as well when there is a
change or if the same IP is used after 15 or so days.

If he is getting the below message when the computer is booted, then
it's also running fine..

WARNING:  caught SIGTERM; exiting

Not sure why it does that, but it is indeed running so the user just needs to let it ride for a while.
