Up2date fails to update pppd

For the last couple of days, I have been trying to apply an update 
flagged by the RHN Up2date icon for pppd-2.4.2-3-FC2.1. However, when I 
go through the up2date process, it stops with a warning saying:
There was a package dependency problem. The message was:
Unresolvable chain of dependancies:
initscripts-7.53-1      requires pppd < 2.3.9

Is this a "bug" with up2date? If not, how do I overcome this error?
