IMAP doesn't like HTML formatting

That's a bunch of BS.

The imap server sends the entire fscking message to the client, 
including the headers just like pop3, and it uses the mbox format just 
like most pop3 servers do also.

The formatting problems are more likely to do with evolution which 
doesn't load images by default, and the original poster just doesn't 
realize that.
