 I had the exact same problem.

2x Kingston 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ " Barton", 333MHz FSB
Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2

All the hardware is new and works fine.
However the ram will not work in pairs in this MB.
I went to kingston's site to find this out.
Either stick alone tests and works fine.

Run memtest86 on your ram, you should have no errors at all.
