Peter,
The make.sh script has a Fedora workaround to look in
/usr/src/linux-`uname -r`/drivers/char/drm for certain files to
determine the version of XFree86. When you run make.sh it's looking in
/lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435.2.3/build/include.
I ran the same procedure here without problems. I'm also running the
stock 2.6.6-1.435.2.3.
One other thought: Do you have a /usr/src/linux directory (or link)?
If so, try moving it and rerunning make.sh
