I am tracking the development kernels on this machine.  For a while my mass 
storage device camera would not be recognized; then matters improved but 
transfers would stall and abort; lately long transfers would stall and miss 
the last chunk of the file.  I just checked with the current 2.6.7-1.492 and 
still there is a large pause at the end of bringing over an MPG from the 
camera, I can't tell if it is truncated or not.

IIRC The FC2 original kernel had nasty USB behaviour too.
