Hello,

I just bought a new motherboard an MSI 848P Neo-V, to create a small home fileserver.
I have an old 30gb HDD: IBM DTLA-307030 that I want to use as primary master HDD, and on the same cable I plugged my DVD burner.

But now, I am experiencing ver very strange problem...
When I use http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ to boot, I can see my HDD correctly as a 30gb one, I even made all the tests available on it as well as recreating the partition scheme, everything looks fine and went ok.

BUT when I try to install FC2 (but it does the same with windows), it tells me that the partition table is not readable and ask me if it want to correct it. And basically, once I say yes, I can see hda in the list of available HDD, but hda is looking like a 2mb!!! HDD when it is a 30gb one... and whatever tool, I will try to use, it always looks like 2mb.

If I restart from scratch, it will look again as 30gb, but once I try to install something, it looks like 2mb!

>From where could the prbl comes from???

Anyone already experienced such behaviours??? I have been stuck for the last 2 days, messing around with it :/

Thxs in advance
Ludo
