   as i suggested, you can set up a web page.  that's what others have 
done.  i already acknowledged that the information was potentially 
useful, but if it's simply posted on a regular basis and not in 
response to specific queries, sorry, it's still spam, just like the 
gmail stuff.

   if people think a regular posting of helpful hints is a good idea, 
then it can be as simple as something like:

   "For help with common Fedora issues, check out www.fedorafaq.org." 
or something like that.  max k-a has the right idea -- he just makes 
the stuff easily available, and lets people take advantage of it if 
they want to.

   letting people know where they can find useful info is a good thing. 
forcing it on them on a regular basis isn't.  it sets a bad precedent 
since it may encourage others to do the same thing, and then we might 
have numerous people, all thinking they have something useful that 
everyone else should read, posting to the list.

   just my $0.03 (canadian).

p.s.  i'm not *trying* to be contrary and curmudgeonly.  i am merely 
succeeding.
