Ethernet card does not work with FC2

The modprobe apporach did not work.. I got a warning saying:

unregister_netdevice : waiting for eth0 to become free. Usage count =28

then I had to reboot the laptop.

I partially solved the problem, I borrowed a PCMCIA ethernet 3COM card 
from a colleague, configured it then I finally have internet connection.
After the PCMCIA card is configured as eth1 and working, I can configure
the normal eth0, then everything is apparently fine... however, when I
reboot the laptop I cannot longer use the eth0... then I have (again) to
use the PCMCIA... BTW: does not matter I use the "SAVE" option of
"redhat-config-network", it does not keep the last configuration, and is
alsways showing eth0 (ethernet card), eth1 (PCMCIA), eth2 (xDSL) and eth3
(wireless connection).... I also tried to delete all them and only
configure my eth0, but does not work.... merciful !

I think it is a problem with the driver (e100 ?), but I am not an expert,
could you please kindly provide any instruction to download the needed
source drivers then how to recompile and install into my laptop (Toshiba
Satellite Pro 4600)... (redhat-config-network recognize my ethernet card
as "82801BA/BAM/CA/CAM Ethernet Controller") I think that might be the
easiest/effective way to finally have any internet connection.
