The setup steps are equal as it is both Sendmail version 8.12.

Be sure to install the latest update packages for RH9! this is very
important in your case for Sendmail. Go to www.fedoralegacy.org and
install yum and their repository to get even fixes for bugs which were
fixed after EOL of RH9.
