Read all of this http://en.tldp.org/HOWTO/PPP-HOWTO/ 3 times over.  Sit 
on your hands and just read it.  I can't tell you it will solve your 
problems, but I'll be surprised if it doesn't get you a lot closer to 
it!  First match in Google "linux ppp".
