kernel 2.4.22-1.2194 burned my monitor

No, the kernel did not damage anything with the monitor.

I could bet that you with the previous kernel used NVidia or ATI closed
source drivers. Now with a different kernel there is no such driver,
because the driver is kernel dependent. You will have to rebuild the
proprietary driver and X is running again.
