I even tried to install FC1 on another partition, and creating the Alice
xDSL connection from scratch, but the result is always the same.

Are you really using an ADSL connection? What kind of modem do you have,
USB or Ethernet?

I'm afraid I need a whole team of gurus to solve this problem...

Thanks anyway for your kind help!
