I would choose a camera i like (look at the link above, www.dpreview.com 
or http://www.dpreview.com/misc/links.asp) and then try to get a 
compatible USB 2.0 Card Reader. You just have to be shure, the camera 
saves the images in a "normal" format.
For instance no Pentax digital camera is listed in the compatibility 
list, but i have no prob reading the pics from the SD Card with the 
cardreader. (Maybe it would work directly, too - never tried it).
