can't shutdown or reboot from gnome

Hi All,

I'm running FC2 and can't shutdown or reboot from gnome.  When I click
on the appropriate option, I get an "Unknown User" pop-up, and after
clicking OK am dumped to the gdm login screen (where I can reboot,
shutdown just fine).  I came across bug #115684 in bugzilla, but it
doesn't seem to be generating too much interest.  Is anyone else
experiencing this, or come up with a solution?  Thanks for any help.
