Adding new fonts to OpenOffice

OK, I give up.  How do you add new fonts to OpenOffice under Fedora Core 
2.  The OpenOffice 'spadmin' program is no longer (apparently) 
available.  I've added my new batch of truetype fonts to the font 
server's search path, but this doesn't do the trick.  Any help would be 
appreciated.
