Kernel 2.6.6-427 and missing ln -s

I upgraded to Kernel .427 mainly because of the hard drive situation
with the FC2 shipping kernel. However when I upgraded I lost all my /mnt
drives under the "computer" icon on the desktop and auto mount seemed to
disappear. Anyone know of any way I can restore those so I don't have to
mount manually?
