JRE and foo.jar

As I recall what you want is:

java -Djava.compiler=none -jar jedit41install.jar

Note that there is no space between the -D and java.compiler=none. Accept
the defaults for the install (/usr/local/share/jedit) and, as long the java
executable is in your path, you're all set.
