Very simple Steve :) The error occurs as you configured a loop. You put
in the redirect instructions inside the SSL vhost config while it must
be in the main httpd.conf, where it makes much sense. I use the exact
same syntax. I only would add a trailing slash to
https://webmail.mydomain.com (not just cosmetic).
