Urgent need Help with glibc

Hi,
I´ve tried to solve my problem as follows:
- mounting the corrupted system per nfs (/ -> /mnt) from another rh8
system.
- try to downgrade the rpm´s with
rpm --root /mnt --upgrade --force --nodeps -vv *.rpm
unfortunately rpm seems to hang afer a while.
see output below.
any help?
