Which fax program to choose

Look up mgetty+sendfax...  This is a modem utillity that allows PPP
connections; but, it can also be setup to send/receive FAXes and even Voice
messages (answering machine) for modems that support these options.

Sorry, this utility can be setup to handle the hardware, you have to setup a
shared printer to FAX outgoing.  Incoming can be routed to a printer..  etc.
It is not simple to set all this up without work!

All this can be done though...  I know that for certain.
