Hi SR,

The bad news for you here is Canon have denied you access to the
wonderful world of Linux (I hope that doesn't mean you're giving up on
Linux altogether).  I had a Canon LBP-800, which I emailed Canon
directly about to request Linux drivers as none were provided on their
web site.

Their response was, no Linux drivers are available for the Canon LBP-800
and there is no intension of making any.  That said, there are other
model's of Canon that work quite happily with Linux according to the
googling I did at the time.
