I also have MailScanner and Spamassassin running, and kept getting:

Mar 3 08:11:32 sparky postfix: Process did not exit cleanly, returned 2
with signal 0
Mar 3 08:12:03 sparky last message repeated 3 times
Mar 3 08:13:13 sparky last message repeated 7 times

in /var/log/messages. I also had:

Can't locate strict.pm in @INC (@INC contains:
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.3/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.3.....

(from /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg)

When I did a locate, strict.pm was found in /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.1, but
when I tried a 'file /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.1/strict.pm' the file was not
found. I did a 'updatedb' and locate then found
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.3/strict.pm (where it was supposed to be.

I did a 'service MailScanner restart' and I do not get the postfix error
message anymore. I also re-ran the 'env LANG=C /usr/bin/mrtg
/etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg' command, and it ran cleanly.

Maybe you just needed to restart anything that is using perl?
