samba Problem

The XP machines tries to become master browser.

XP did win the election.

Finally the Samba machine got his master role back again.

smbclient -L localhost

on the Samba machine reports a working Samba and shares? You do not have
to force Samba to be the local master browser. If it is for your
environment better to let XP take this role then let it go. Also care
that reannouncing of the browse list can take up to 12 minutes.
