print problems "lp: stdin is empty, so no job has been sent.'

Hey All,

For some reason many programs will no longer print. 
redhat-config-printer will make cups test pages fine, acroread will
print ok, so will lpr filename.ps, but ggv won't print, nor will gimp.

Gimp produces the following error.
lp: stdin is empty, so no job has been sent.

Any hints?
