Umm, I specifically said DVD-ROM. That they can also play DVDs is 
pointless in the context of my question.

We get DVD-ROM drives on all our servers, so that we don't have to 
schlep dozens of CDs around when needed.

Your question sounds exactly like the old "why do you need CD-ROM 
drives on these servers? They come with floppy drives." comments I used 
to get.
