New box with ASUS MB and SATA drives work great. I also have an IDE
drive as I wasn't to sure about SATA when I purchased the computer.
Latest kernel recognized the SATA controller and that it was a RAID
controller. I am using md, not the MB RAID.
With this in mind, I boot off of the IDE drive and just use the SATA
drives in a md RAID for /home.
